I made it to Illinois today. No welcome sign because I rode a ferry over the Mississippi River from Missouri to Illinois. I rode a second ferry over the Illinois River. It is surprising how dry people say it has been in the area, then to see the amount of water flowing down these two rivers is really impressive.
I was on a nice greenbelt along the Mississippi and took a picture of a cool mural of a Piasa Bird.
Stayed in Alton, IL and had some fresh tomatoes and homade piccalilli relish for dinner.
