I changed my route a little to cut off around 100 miles. The Wabash Trace trail was suposed to be the next long trail, but I only rode 4 miles on it. Now I am using maps from Adventure Cycling. They keep me on low traveled roads and some trails. I went back into NE today to go south to Kansas, then into Missouri.
Today, after getting a little lost, I got on the Steamboat Trace. A nice trail with some campgrounds located right on the trail. I stopped at Peru NE for the night. It is tough to get a good nights rest in the heat. Tonight I had a good light show so it wasn't too bad. There was a big lightning show for a few hours. I got up a few times to watch it. I got a little bit of rain which felt good.
