Day 17
Today was the big day. I would start to go down, awesome. I like to be up in the mountains, but the weather and altitude have been tough. The half-a-mile and mile rolling hills of Wyoming have also done me in. It was a cool ride today after about 25 miles I finally got the downhill payoff. An 8 mile downhill with a nice scenic area stop after mile 4. The area was the Red Canyon WHMA.
I crossed over one of my favorite rivers today. The Sweetwater flows through some of the most desolate areas of Wyoming, that I have been. I did not believe the map a couple times on my previous trip through Wyoming, but after a tough climb there it would be just in time for a fill-up.
Stopped at Lander WY tonight. There is a bike route called the Transamerica and the Continental Divide hiking trail so a local hotel has put in a camping area right on the river for just 10 bucks.
Miles 45, Total miles 603, avg 11.2, max 35.2, time 4.0.

I like the Red Canyon photos. Very nice color and perspective.
